Book reviews Subsequent fanarts And other such nonsense By Street-Angel |
motherfuckingtea asked: I did something similar once, damn you slow shipping! But, I'm curious do you like the auidobook version of The Curse Workers? I listened to book #1 myself, and I'm curious to see if you liked it.
The voice is a bit jilting and lacking any inflection from what I’ve heard so far so if by ‘like’ do I think it makes good listening? Not really. But I’m so often disappointed by audiobooks that I tend to only resort to them if I’m-
a/ too busy working to read but I can still listen along while working
b/ can’t wait for the book because I can’t get it for whatever reason
c/ just can’t read anymore but feel compelled to finish the series without having to occupy my time reading
In all honesty I think listening to The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Box of Delights BBC Radio Dramas spoiled me for audio books. The first two I believe are available on youtube and really worth checking out of if you’re a Tolkien fan that doesn’t fancy the 9 hour movie marathon. That said I can listen to His Dark Materials, The Old Kingdom and The Black Magician audio books over and over.
