Book reviews Subsequent fanarts And other such nonsense By Street-Angel |
Alright, so some of you may have heard of Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence, some of you may have even read it. Well King of Thorns (that’s book 2) is coming out in just over a week so to inspire those of you who haven’t read it (or even those that have) we’re having ourselves a little competition over here.

Mark Lawrence has kindly offered up not 1, not 2 but 3 signed paperback copies of Book 1 Prince of Thorns. It’s a random grab bag of covers including the Black, White UK paperback/tradepaperback & Microscopic US paperbacks. So it could be any of these sexy beasties.

How do you win you ask? Well you’re a creative bunch I’m sure so shall we say we’ll have an Art category, a Written category and then a Judges Choice. But there must always be rules.
Since the prize is a book it makes sense that the entries should relate to books, so your piece must feature published characters! Preferably from Young Adult Fantasy so we can at least keep some semblance of form XD
Maximum of three entries per person but in the case of the Written category, no epic fantasy long pieces. Should probably rule out fanfiction here too because I have no idea how we’d judge that. So poetry, maybe write a song or a parody?
Judges will include myself and whichever of my literary friends will agree to help. Although this might involve tieing them to a chair. If all else fails we’ll do a public vote…or something. It will be a good something.
Finally..deadline…well shall we say Midnight GMT August 6th? As August 7th is the King of Thorns release date so our three lucky winners will be able to grab a copy from the book shop safe in the knowledge that book 1 will be winging it’s way too them.
Contest is open internationally!
You can upload your entry/entries anywhere and either note me on DA, send me an ask/fanmail on tumblr or e-mail me here 8street.angel@gmail.com with a link!
So good luck to everyone!
Who knows, if this goes well perhaps I will run other contests in the future with equally scintillating prizes.
