Book reviews Subsequent fanarts And other such nonsense By Street-Angel |
One of my favourite PaulKnife moments.
Re-reading Knife reminds me how much I love this couple. PaulxKnife ftw OTP.
Family Issues CLOCKWORK PRINCESS SPOILERS by *Street-Angel
Click through for the joke (ATTEMPTING TO SAVE PEOPLE FROM SPOILERS)
Since I’m still reeling from Clockwork Princess feels the only ID related art I can manage right now is crack. This was drawn on artistic crack. And about 4 episodes of the first season of Glee.
If you’re up to date on all CC related news you should be able to know who all these characters are without me listing them in a vain attempt to not spoil as many people as possible who haven’t finished Clockwork Princess.
Enjoy
P.S. If you reblog this please don’t add character tags! Spare people spoilers where you can!
P.S.S. I’m sorry Cassie…I tried…
Whisper by *Street-Angel
Exclamations burst from the faeries on both sides: shocked, angry disbelieving. Veronica looked murderous, and Bluebell nauseated. But at the back of the crowd where Byrne lay bleeding in his twin brother’s arms, his fingers lifted feebly to grasp Corbin’s collar, and the two of them began whispering to each other.
P.340 of Arrow by RJ Anderson
It’s actually impossible to give more context to the scene without spoiling the solution for book 3. However if you have started reading, or you’ve read, the Faery Rebels you’ll know that the Blackwing twins are actually bad guys. Or more precisely they’re the leading antagonists leading henchmen. So you might be sat there wondering what on earth I’m doing drawing the bad guys.
But something just really struck me about this moment. About what they’re whispering about. And what it says about their relationship with each other.
That and I’m a sucker for twins.
And clearly all my Faery Rebels fanarts are defined by their amazing choices in footwear.
The rockface is from google.
Also experimented with lips on guys…I’m still not used to it but I think it came out okay. Drawing lips on girl character is easy cause pink and red are gloss and lipstick. With guys the definition always looks too strong to me because there’s never enough tone and texture in the rendered faces to pull it off but I think it worked here.
Moving swiftly on.

I got a request to post the final frame of the Where You Are video so here you are anon. For all your Jared feels while we wait for Untold.
All music and sounds are royalty free.
Kami and Jared are imaginary friends who live in different parts of the world from Sarah Rees Brennan’s Unspoken; book 1 of the Lynburn Legacy. They speak to each other in their minds.
This is fan-scene set a couple of years before the book starts so they’re meant to be about 12/13 at this point.
Kami is trying to sleep and Jared is waiting at a bus stop.
This is also something of a new direction for me as it’s a little bit of basic animation and story as opposed to just a slide show to music as I’ve done before. But this time with sound effects rather than a song. It was definitely a challenge. At first I tried to get it together in Flash by importing finished frames from photoshop but I wasn’t able to get the effects I wanted. I had to save certain layers as gifs which destroyed the quality and it showed. Then I thought about using windows movie maker but that wasn’t right either.
In the end I did the whole thing in Adobe photoshot and Adobe image ready. I then saved it as an .mov file and used WMM to add the music to create this.
If you’d like to leave a comment on what you thought of this experiment of mine you can do so on deviantart here
Enjoy :)
Some sketches of something I’m working on right now. It’s not a scene from a book, it’s a fan-scene from pre-book and my first time drawing the guy. I’m not really sure I’ve drawn him how I’d like to, or the girl either tbh, but it’ll do for this because all the fixing I’ve tried to do has made it worse. OTL
But even as he spoke footsteps pounded up the stairs, and a slim, dark-haired boy leaped up onto the landing, brandishing a fireplace poker like a sword. Cold iron ringed his fingers, braved his wrists, swung in cross-shape from a leather thong around his neck - an armour no faery spell could penetrate.
‘Let her go, Martin,’ he panted, leveling the poker.
A talented young human, the Empress had called Timothy, but regrettably prone to violence. Rhosmari knew it was true - and yet her heart at the sight of him, just the same.
P.171 Arrow by RJ Anderson
Actually drew this and lined it over a year ago. At the time I was experimenting with thicker lines and, as you can probably tell, it didn’t catch on. I did however like the energy and the slightly warped perspective that seems to focus on Timothy (either that or my eyes are just going funky from looking at it too long) that happened completely by accident.
I think it could almost be Rhosmari’s view of the scene.
To know more about what’s going on you’ll have to read RJ Anderson’s amazing Faerie Rebels series Knife, Rebel and Arrow.

Avid reader problems
Dig up all the WIPS. Timothy verses Martin from Arrow by RJ Anderson. It’s not finished either because it has no shading but I needed something else to work on besides the Blackwings piece because if you look at something for too long you get sick of looking at it. So to keep momentum switched it up a bit with this.
Not done by any means but well under way. Blocked the shadows in on most of the clothes, those need refining and I haven’t done any of the shading for the close up but still under way. Really liking this so far :’)
If you want to know what’s going on you’ll have to read RJ Anderson’s Faerie Rebels series Knife, Rebel and Arrow.
